Images Of Microsoft’s Lumia 950 And 950 XL Windows 10 Mobile Flagships Leak

Windows 10 Mobile is just around the corner, and so are a couple of flagship Lumia devices that will run on the new platform. Specifically, Microsoft is expected to introduce the Lumia 950 (codenamed Talkman) and Lumia 950 XL (codenamed Cityman) during a press even in October.

What look to be official press renderings of both devices have been leaked to the web courtesy of none other than Evan Blass, aka @evleaks on Twitter. The handsets look similar to each other with the same overall design, with only subtle differences between the two.

Microsoft Lumia 950 XL

The slightly larger cyan-colored handset is the Lumia 950 XL. It has a 5.7-inch display with a 2560x1440 resolution, whereas the all-black Lumia 950 sports a 5.2-inch display, also with a 2560x1440 resolution. That means the on-screen real-estate will be the same for both devices, though the smaller handset will have a higher pixel density.

The button layouts are slightly different between the two Lumia devices, though both appear to have dedicated camera buttons. This would make sense since camera performance has been a selling point of Lumia devices in the past, and also because previous models have had dedicated shutter buttons.

Cityman

Evan Blass isn't the only one leaking images of flagship Lumia phones. Brad Sams from Neowin posted a real-world (not a press rendering) of the Lumia 950 XL connected to a device using a USB Type-C cable, as shown above.

Based on previous rumors and leaked info, the Lumia 950 will feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage expandable via microSD, 5MP front camera, 20MP rear camera, Qi wireless charging, and a removable 3,000 mAh battery.

The larger Lumia 950 XL will have a faster Snapdragon 810 processor and bigger 3,300 mAh battery (also removable).
