Apple May Unveil Updated iPhone 6 Models With Force Touch In August

Is it too early to talk about another iPhone release? Apparently not, as speculation has already begun on what the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus will bring to the table. At least one analyst thinks that Apple will unveil updated iPhone models as early as August, coming in ahead of the September time frame that Apple's been known for.

This is coming from KGI Securities analyst Kuo Ming-Chi, ZDNet reports. Kuo's crystal ball tells him that the next iPhone models will feature the same Force Touch technology that was incorporated into the new MacBook and MacBook Pro laptops, a rumor we've heard before. The way Kuo sees it, Force Touch "can enrich user experience due to more input methods and support of handwritten signatures, which is beneficial for expanding the commercial market."

Kuo expects Foxconn take charge of manufacturing by handling up to 70 percent of new iPhone production, and no less than 60 percent. Of those phone models that Foxconn builds, around two-thirds will be of the 4.7-inch iPhone 6S variety, while the remaining orders will be for the bigger 5.5-inch iPhone 6 Plus.

Other features could include an upgrade in RAM to 2GB, a 12-megapixel camera, better Touch ID sensor, and a more rigid chassis to avoid any more talk of phones bending. Beyond those upgrades, it's not known what else Apple might have up its sleeve.
