Cooler Master Unveils Monstrous V8 GTS Cooler, Capable Of Dissipating 250 Watts

Although liquid coolers are hot items for builders and modders, a great air CPU cooler is something to behold. Cooler Master announced a doozy of a cooler, which the company says was inspired by muscle cars and can dissipate thermal loads up to 250W.

The V8 GTS boasts a wild design that seems like a sort of ball within an space armor exoskeleton, and it has slick-looking red LED lighting. The device uses Horizontal Vapor Chamber (HVC) technology, triple-tower heatsinks, and eight high-performance heatpipes to accomplish this feat, along with dual 140mm fans that feature POM bearings that purport to be dustproof and last for over 160,000 hours. The fan speed can be adjusted to accommodate noise and performance.

The Cooler Master V8 GTS supports Intel sockets 2011/1366/1156/1155/1150/775 as well as AMD FM2/FM1/AM3+/AM3/AM2. It will be available in August for $99.99.

This cooler confuses me. It's the transformers edition of the Hyper 212. It's kind of cool looking sure. But it's way to big. Almost no one OC's enough to get the benefit of the additional cooling over the 212. Unlike water cooling the heat is still in the case and needs to be moved out. Really if you need more cooling than the Hyper 212 (that cost a 1/4 of this) liquid cooling is the way to go.

I like it, but for 100$ I think you could do better.

Now that would be a comparison test to see which is better. I like Noctua stuff more than Cooler Master when it comes to air coolers but I wasn't disappointed at all with my old V6GT cooler I bought for $60.

I wonder what muscle car they modeled it after?

Amd FX-9590 and FX-9370, your cooler is ready ;)

$99 is too much for an air cooler.$70 will get you one that works very well, although a cooler that can tame 250W CPUs is a good thing.

I guess if you have extra money and the look fights your build than its worth it.

I feel like it could use a few more LEDs

Cpu's or Gpu's? Unless youre clocking an FX past 4.8GHz 250W is probably overkill....

That's pretty cool, it kinda looks like a hot rod.

But since my build doesn't have a panel on the side to look into the case... this would be wasted.
