Uncharted 4: A Thief's End Delayed Again Until Late April

This isn't the kind of news Uncharted fans wanted to see right before Christmas, but at the same time, it's not too surprising. Via the official PlayStation Blog, we're told straight out that Uncharted 4: A Thief's End is being delayed yet again, this time until April 26, 2016.

While any delay is unfortunate, many gamers have come to appreciate that it's actually better when game developers take extra time to perfect (as well as can be) their games. Need we bring up examples like Fallout 4 or Batman: Arkham Knight?

Uncharted 4

The Uncharted developers want to make sure this fourth and final installment proves as epic as every fan is hoping it will. At the blog post, it's reiterated that this is the "largest" and most ambitious game in the series, and the devs want to make sure it doesn't leave a sour taste in gamer mouths. "As we approached our final deadlines and started wrapping up the game’s levels, we realized that several key sequences needed extra resources to bring them to the finish line. After carefully considering all of our options, we decided to extend our schedule, making sure that we get a few more polish passes before submitting our gold master (the final disc for manufacturing)."

Considering what brand-new games cost nowadays, we'd hope that every game developer and publisher would take the same kind of care with wrapping up their productions. Games like Batman: Arkham Knight caused major headaches for many gamers (mostly on PC), and at the end of the day, there was really no excuse for it. The developer knowingly shipped less-than-ideal code.

"Pushing the date is not an easy choice, and we wouldn't do it if we didn't feel in our hearts it's the best course of action for the game."

It seems almost certain at this point that Uncharted 4 will in fact be just as epic as fans are hoping, a proper send-off to the series.
