Samsung Smart TVs To Gain PlayStation Now Streaming In 2015

Fancy yourself a PlayStation gamer? In the need for a new television? If you answered "Yes" to both questions, then hang tight and be on the lookout for new Samsung smart TVs coming out in the first of 2015. Why? Samsung has partnered with Sony to integrate its PlayStation Now game streaming service on select models, giving you access to hundreds of PlayStation 3 games streamed from the cloud, no console required!

It's the same feature that's offered on the PlayStation 4, along with a variety of other platforms. Using PlayStation Now, gamers have access to over 200 titles from various genres, including action/adventure, racing, RPG, and so forth. They're accessible on a rental basis, with most games running between $1.99 and $19.99, depending on the length of the rental period.

"Since we first introduced PlayStation Now at CES 2014, our vision has been to open the world of PlayStation to the masses by offering the service on the devices they use every day," said Masayasu Ito, Executive Vice President of Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. "Partnering with Samsung is a key step toward realizing this vision, as we can reach a broader audience of consumers who may not own a PlayStation console to show them why gaming with PlayStation is such a unique and amazing experience."

Samsung and Sony say the PlayStation Now service will launch as an app that can be accessed through Samsung's Smart Hub. Once you fire it up, you can play PS3 titles using a wireless Dual Shock 4 controller, though you'll have to purchase one separately.
