Microsoft Black Friday Deals Offer Steep Discounts on Surface, Lumia and Xbox Bundles

While Apple is over in Cupertino doing its best Ebenezer Scrooge impression by shunning cash discounts on products in favor of bundled gift cards, Microsoft is doing Black Friday the right way. There are some significant discounts on various Microsoft gear over at its online store, which not only means upfront savings, but you also get to avoid the hustle and bustle of the holiday crowd.

The original Surface tablet can be had for $199, marked down from $349. Sure, it's saddled with Windows RT, and who knows if that operating system is long for this world or not, but at $199, it's at least an interesting proposition.

If you're willing to spend $368 on Surface, Microsoft will bundle in a few extras, including your choice of Type Cover 2 or Touch Cover, your choice of sleeve, a $25 Windows Store gift card, and two years of accidental damage coverage.

So many Surface isn't your thing. That's okay, because there are a bunch of other items on sale. You can pick up an Xbox 360 250GB Holiday Value Bundle for $200. Included in the package is the console itself, Halo 4, Tomb Raider, and a free month of Xbox Live Gold.

There are discounted laptops available, including an HP Pavilion TouchSmart 10-e010nr with a 10.1-inch touchscreen display, AMD A4-1200 processor, 2GB of RAM, 320GB hard drive, and up to 5 hours of battery life for $249. If you're not digging Google's Chromebook offerings, this is a serviceable low-cost (and low-power) alternative that runs Windows 8.1.

Perhaps a bit more enticing is Acer's Aspire V5-571P-6485 with a 15.6-inch HD touchscreen display, Core i5 3337U, 4GB RAM, 500GB hard drive, and 5 hours of battery life for $499, marked down from $699.

This is a sampling of what's available. There are game controllers, wireless speakers, headsets, games, phones, earphones, and more. Hit up the source link below sooner rather than later, as items are starting to sell out.
