ASUS Teases Big 24-inch ROG Series Laptop That's Faster Than A Titan X
ASUS ROG (Republic of Gamers) is working on a new laptop for gamers that's going to be big, both in size and performance. The company's R&D isn't quite ready to let the cat out of the bag, but it did share some tidbits that give you an idea of what to expect from what ASUS ROG considers "the future of ultimate gaming laptops."
One of those tidbits sits inconspicuously in the tags section of ASUS ROG's blog post. We say it's inconspicuous because tags are generally intended for search engines like Google and Bing to index a website. But in this instance, one of the tags reveals that ASUS ROG is working on a massive 24-inch gaming laptop.
That's not just big, it's gargantuan. A 17.3-inch laptop is now considered big, and there's a spattering of 18.4-inch notebooks in the wild. But 24 inches? That's freakin' huge and more than hints at this being a desktop replacement, not an Ultrabook or an ultrathin.

Lest there be any doubt about that, ASUS ROG provided some benchmarks showing its forthcoming laptop outpacing various desktops, including one with a GeForce GTX Titan X graphics card, another with a Radeon R9 295X2, and one more running a GeForce GTX 980 Ti. Only the Titan X comes close the 24-inch laptop's 3DMark 11 score of 20,811, but is still edged out. And that's before overclocking the laptop.
That's right, you'll be able to overclock this laptop, which is probably another reason for its size. By going with a 24-inch form factor, ASUS ROG is likely to employ some fancy cooling schemes to keep the inside relatively chilly, though it didn't talk about cooling.
ASUS ROG also didn't mention any specs, though we're guessing NVIDIA's Pascal architecture will find its way inside in some form. Whether or not that's the case will be revealed at Computex 2016, when ASUS ROG is expected to formally introduce this beastly laptop.
