Is BestBuy Reducing Its 30 Day Return Policy to 15 Days?

Beginning March 3, Best Buy will extend its price-matching "Low Price Guarantee" to all local retail competitors and 19 major online outfits in all product categories on nearly all in-stock products, provided the customer requests it. That includes popular online shopping sites like Amazon.com, Newegg.com, and TigerDirect.com, to name just a few. At the same time, however, it's being reported that Best Buy's "Return and Exchange" period is being slashed in half from 30 days to 15 days, after raising it a year ago.

According to The Consumerist, numerous sources have confirmed the policy change, though Best Buy has yet to come out and outright confirm or deny. When pressed for comment, Best Buy simply told The Consumerist, "We recently extended our price match policy through March 2, 2013, the return and exchange policy remains the same."

Furthermore, The Consumerist says it's heard from "multiple sources" that the retail chain will drop it's post-purchase price matching policy starting March 3.

Assuming all this is true, will it impact your decision to shop at Best Buy, or does the new and aggressive price matching policy offset a shorter return/exchange period.
