Best Buy Slashes LG G Watch To $160, Sells Out Of Pre-Owned Inventory At $70

One of the risks of being an early adopter of technology is that at any given moment, a price cut is bound to appear. In fact, that's an inevitability in most cases. Be that as it may, it's still a gut punch when it happens, especially so quickly, as is the case with LG's G Watch. Having only been on the market since July, Best Buy just slashed the price of the G Watch to $160.

That's down from the smartwatch's original MSRP of $229 and it applies to both the black and white models. It's not known if the price cut will turn into a temporary one or if Best Buy is trying to clear out inventory in advance of something new, but either way, that's a significant reduction for something that's only been available for a few short months.

Best Buy also offered up a limited number of pre-owned LG G Watch models through Cowboom for just $70, though those items were quickly snatched up -- the listing now shows the $70 wearable as being sold out with no sign of returning. In its place (and still in stock if you act fast) is Sony's SmartWatch 2 for $60, plus $5 shipping.

LG's G Watch is powered by Google's Android Wear platform. It has a 2.2-inch touchscreen LCD, 1.2GHz Qualcomm processor, 4GB of internal memory, dual-watch display, built-in pedometer, voice activation, Bluetooth 4.0, micro USB charging interface, and various other odds and ends.
