To be entered into this sweepstakes, please follow these quick and easy guidelines below. If you're brand new here, there might be a few more steps necessary, but otherwise it's pretty simple!

1) Make sure you're a registered member at HotHardware.com. You can also login with your Facebook or Twitter accounts if you'd like.

2) Be active in news and article discussions and the forum community here at HotHardware.com to get noticed.

3) "Like" the ThermaltakeGigabyte and HotHardware Facebook pages, if you haven't already done so. (Share our contest post on your wall for some brownie points--help spread the word!)

4) If you're on Google +, adding HotHardware to your circles will increase visibility as well.

5) That's it!

The contest will run through December 17, 2012, at which point we'll announce the lucky winner. Get in early and post here, in the HH news discussions and in our forum often!

** Please note, this give-away is for U.S. or Canadian residents only. The winner, if selected and located at a Canadian ship-to address, will assume all duties / taxes associated with delivery. Any / all winners are responsible for any applicable taxes associated with contest prize.

This is a great chance for to you to win a custom, powerful new PC featuring awesome components from Thermaltake, Gigabyte and AMD. Good Luck everyone!

fat78 2 years ago

That Power supply will give a lot of head room to upgrade the computer later on (even though its already an amazing computer) such as adding a second or even a third gpu if you want to go crazy.

This isn't related to the contest but i went to thermaltake's website to check out some of their stuff and i noticed a few cases from them that i never saw, like the sword m super tower and mozart tx, and they looked amazing. If i had cash to blow on a computer i would probably buy the mozart case just so the first thing people see when they walk in my room is this massive computer.

thingthing62 2 years ago

This prize is going to make someone a very happy camper!

3vi1 2 years ago

I'm voluntarily if not by default, out of the running for this. Though...not to make you all want it more, I have to tell you: The systems you will win from HH are _way_ better than you would imagine. I think that the one I won is better than any of my other systems I've ever had (and I built those).

Dave and Marco don't appear to have ever partnered with chumps in these contests, so expect 'awesome'. And, If you don't win now, stick around for the next one, or two, or four! There are a lot of personalities here worth sticking around for.

altereDad 2 years ago

One down, how many more to go?? LoL

I have to agree on the build. I'm usually cheap when it comes to case and other such hardware.

Hi @WilleB  depending on the vendor for your card .>> you might want to look into getting another gpu cooler for your card. Hi us up with the make and model number info because you may be able to get a new cooler either from the manufacture [warranty] or a third party vid cooler to fit your card .for not a whole lot of money.

i have been window-shopping and window-building my "dream pc" on the internet. and this pc is just like that but so much more dreamier. the reason why i want one is for gaming. been a console gamer and can't justify spending so much dough for a computer just to play games. so, winning one would probably be the only way i'd get one, unless i win the lottery.

realneil 2 years ago

You're right, we do have equal chances to win. HotHardware is the place for fantastic contests, and many times the winner is somebody new.

As for respect, that's one of the fringe benefits of this site. People seem to get along most of the time. It's a great place to hang out.

Definitely.  Whenever a contest is ending, my hand catches on fire from hitting F5 on the contest page.

lol, I know that feeling.  Followed by a sinking feeling when you lose.

Well, there's still time to leave the F5 key alone ;) This goes until after December 17, so lots of time for people to post and be active on the various topics covered at HH.

P.S. To the new members... your chances of winning would drastically improve if you post on other topics as well, not just here on the contest post! Don't be shy :D

What about that TT Water 2.0 Extreme?

That is a bad-ass looking CPU cooler. It looks like it will handle any decent overclocking with ease,..........

Dorkstar 2 years ago

I was actually just reading up on this bad boy earlier.  I'm highly impressed by the numbers, I haven't seem a OCed full load review over 75 yet.

Now what about that level 10 mouse?  I'm always on the fence about that mouse, it just has an awkward look, like your hand just wouldn't flow well on it.  Anyone have one, or ever gave it a try?  I only deviated from Logitech once and ended up with a $75 razer lachesis that has been sitting in a drawer for about 3 years now.

OSunday 2 years ago

The level 10 mouse does look like it might have an awkward fit on the hand, and I agree with Razers full sized mouses being a strange fit as well.
I use a Razer orochi I snagged off an amazon deal while back and it's been the only mouse I've used for 2 years now and that particular model has been great compared to a friend full sized one.

The primary appeal of that level 10 mouse for me is just the finesse and cohesiveness in style between everything that would come with this rig, I love it when things color coordinate and match and it all just fits so well with the militaryesque theme and style

I have one of the Lvl 10 mice and have to say that it took me a day to get used to the feel. But overall it is awesome, you can adjust the fit in the palm and the tilt to fit your hand comfortable. It is certainly not designed for small hands though. It works well with my averaged sized man hand and would be comfortable for a large hand, but say my 3 year old daughters hand... no way she could use it.

Dorkstar 2 years ago

The level 10 mouse does look like it might have an awkward fit on the hand, and I agree with Razers full sized mouses being a strange fit as well.
I use a Razer orochi I snagged off an amazon deal while back and it's been the only mouse I've used for 2 years now and that particular model has been great compared to a friend full sized one.

The primary appeal of that level 10 mouse for me is just the finesse and cohesiveness in style between everything that would come with this rig, I love it when things color coordinate and match and it all just fits so well with the militaryesque theme and style

Haha, good to know.  I got over sized hands, so those little tiny travel mouse and basically useless to me.

You can adjust the tilt?  I've never even heard of that on a mouse.
Yes you can adjust the top to tilt up to 5 degrees right or left for the most comfortable grip. The size itself is not adjustable but I believe it would fit a large hand well.

OSunday 2 years ago

Hm, sounds good, I'm about 6'3 so my hands are proportional and I think would be considered "large", but my issue with mice is more of how my fingers wrap around it then how it fits in my hand because I sort of use mice farther out towards the knuckles towards the top of my palm than actually resting in my palm and my palm/wrist rest against the desk surface. I'm actually not sure it thats an abnormal way to use mice or not.. maybe a lot of people do it? haha but if my fingers don't find around mice comfortable that's the no go for me, the curved out split portion of Razer's full sized mice made me position my fingers awkwardly which was why I didn't like them.
(Just googled this a little bit, turns out it's called a claw grip on mice compared to a palm grip haha)

The customization for sizing sounds great though and really similar to Cyborg R.A.T. series mice with adjustable dimensions and weight for the mouse

I feel like this is just Thermaltakes version and kind of clone of the Corsiar H100 cooler that looks VERY similar to this.
I'm not sure how the two compare performance wise though, I'm sure Thermaltake but some decent time and energy into making something able to compete with the H100, but the white plastic on those fans scare me a teensy bit, it could just be the picture but the fans in particular don't look to be of the highest quality

realneil 2 years ago
the white plastic on those fans scare me a teensy bit, it could just be the picture but the fans in particular don't look to be of the highest quality
TT makes some great performing fans. I have four of these Silent Cats in one case and they are outstanding. (quiet and high performing)

http://di1-3.shoppingshadow.com/images/pi/a1/f1/5c/43615904-260x260-0-0_Thermaltake+Thermaltake+Silent+CAT+120mm+Case+Fan+.jpg

Pic's a little dirty but this is two of them.

OSunday 2 years ago

Okay now THOSE look like great fans that would make you HAPPY HAPPY!
I guess my doubts are erased but the ones in the picture look like that clear white flimsy plastics but I'm guessing it's just the picture

realneil 2 years ago
I guess my doubts are erased
When I bought them, I already knew about the quality that they produce. I'll bet that they've just improved on what they make since I bought these.

They were a little expensive, but well worth what I spent on them.

OSunday 2 years ago

I've never used anything but stock fans but I've always wondered if the "higher end" more expensive fans were worth the price.
I've read they have more static air pressure and can make a difference but it really makes me wonder if the increase in cooling performance is worth the price.

I know that the stock fans on the corsair H100 really move some air though and have some power on the highest setting. I accidentally sliced my thumb open on one of those fans while troubleshooting (my still unfixed) computer haha

realneil 2 years ago
I've never used anything but stock fans but I've always wondered if the "higher end" more expensive fans were worth the price.
Yes, I think that they are if you choose the right ones. In addition to the Thermaltake fans that I already mentioned, Cougar Vortex PWM fans are good. Enermax Magma fans are too.

What I like like about them is certainly the static pressure and air flow, but they are quiet too. All of them operate at 16dBA or less. This is a real plus for me.

rapid1 2 years ago

Yes responses need to be relevant to what the subject of what there addressing and also provide some enhancement in general. Posting I like chocolate and cool monitor great article etc does not do much.

Of course posting how you don't have any money you really need a new machine even to view the website anymore and that your family really needs a new PC as the one your currently on is about to blow up or won't run games anymore helps a lot though especially if the whole thing takes up at least 4 sentences or maybe even multiple paragraphs.

Oh yeah and needing one for school as a college student so you can study because your in the library posting becuase you cannot access the internet anymore on your school laptop almost always makes you look really needy.

Dave and Marco have only been doing this for how many years now. I would really like to know how many people have posted any of those topics per contest because there are always several. Heck even I posted those needy posts when I first joined like a half decade + ago now.

I might post a 'needy' response if it is actually something I need, but then again, if it IS something I actually need I also go out of my way to make 10 times the effort to win, which is probably why I ended up winning the Rok Box from HH in last years Giving thanks contest - I worked my a... off for that one! (see my sig) <3  .

The more effort you put into things in life, the more you will get out of life. - I think that's how it goes Hmm   lol

I wish you all the best of luck in this contest because to win at HotHardware is truly wonderful! The best part is your effort always get's noticed, even if it takes a contest or three before you are rewarded. Never stop trying! The knowledge gained and friendships made here are just the icing on top!

Ha!

So did anyone check out that awesome Gigabyte GV-R795WF3-3GD Video Card being offered in this system?

A little close inspection reveals a BIOS switch along the upper edge of the card.

Some cards that have a switch such as this have a normal BIOS and one that is clocked faster at the factory.

rapid1 2 years ago

Yeah this is a sweet system all the way around it also has a Gigabyte UD7 MB which is top of the line Gigabyte, I have a UD5 on my personal system and it is one of the most stable solid MB's I have ever used and I have worked on and used 100's personally. Whomever wins this one (as is the case with any give away in general Marco and Dave do here) will have a great solid machine for years to come. One of the great things about AMD as well is they do not change chip sets or sockets anywhere nearly as often as INTEL in a hardware sense, you may need to update internal (BIOS) software, but generally the same socket stay for at least 3 generations of there chips where as Intel changes a couple times yearly it seems. This will be a solid long term system that the winner will have for years.

My HotHardware i7-870 prize system from years ago ~still~ works flawlessly. When I got it, it had leading edge, first rate components inside, and that has translated to years of great service. I still use it and it's still a great PC.

Damn, why do I get the feeling that 80% of the people here got complete systems from HH at some point in time?

OSunday 2 years ago

Because HotHardware is probably one of the sickest communities around.
I've only been here for a couple years and if you hang around and contribute to the community, it'll give back to you as well.
I'm pretty sure they give away like 5 or so rigs a year, not including individual components and other electronics and usually it's not even in a competitive manner, but in more of pure generosity, it's amazing really.

digitaldd 2 years ago
Many of us have never gotten a system but most of us old timers have gotten a care package with some swag. I recall getting a USB drive, T-Shirt and case badges a few years back.

CDeeter 2 years ago

Yep, last Christmas there was a GTX 580 under my tree thanks to the Hot Hardware gang = )

And the systems they do give away are all unique one-of-a-kind builds made from top shelf components. And the thing about them that I REALLY like is that Marco builds them. It's so cool that the winner can say " I have a system personally built for me from Hot Hardware."

OSunday 2 years ago

Many of us have been here for a long time. (look at my post count) As I've said earlier in this thread, the odds of winning at HotHardware are a heck of a lot better than they are elsewhere.

It's not just about the giveaways though. We have a lot of fun and get a lot of information from here as well.

We try to help one another answer questions about technology when we can, and we like being here when there is no contest going on.

I like that you have stepped in and answered questions that others have had. Thanks for that. It makes our site work better.

HotHardware is one of the few sites on the web that offers a great balance of early-release hardware news, great community involvement, giveaways, and overall awesomeness!

I have personally only been here for a few months, but I know that HH will be my go-to tech site for years to come!

Thanks again HH for being so amazingly generous! We the community appreciate it more than you know ;)

CDeeter 2 years ago

Hothardware is the best tech site on the web. It has a feel like no other. It's like visiting with friends, having a good time, and helping each other. Most of the other sites I visit feel like a competition on who can be the most insulting, or a "I know more than you" cry fest.

We don't do that here, and it's nice being able to discuss differing points of view.

Dave and Marco run a tight ship here, and I sure do appreciate the atmosphere that they have created.

No trolls, no spammers, no flamers, never had them, never will!

well not tot jack the thread ...the O-ring mod is to add little O rings to tame a bit of the plastic thwack sound of the keycaps bottoming, out.the vinyl tubing version is similar to this post Mechanical keyboard o-ring mod  with a nice little example videoin the article.  I found the scissors cut cleaner with the .45 cent vinyl tubing that was easily available at the local hardware store.

HotHardware has many giveaways each year. They give excellent prizes too. The odds of winning here are very good.

I'd love to be able to report on the functionality of the switch on this video card included in the system.

Stay, and be ooonnneee of usss! Onnnnne of uuusss! But seriously, I came in 2 years ago at the tail end of a contest like this too, and since then I've won several free games and one of the best tablets in the market. There's always something like this every few months. Stay, be active, and you'll be pleasantly surprised.

You aim to win?

Dorkstar 2 years ago

You are not afraid to aim?

Do not be afraid to order?

I fear your words may have been lost in translation.

rrplay 2 years ago

not really >>  pretty sure my intention was correct since I was the most fortunate winner of a very sweet Labor day gaming rig z trochę więcej niż rok temu Smile

Dorkstar 2 years ago

Yeah?  I won a playstation 2 back in 2005.  Does that give me winning powers as well?

I dunno >>   how that hot hardware F5 giveaway key holding out  ?

I'm personally a Ctrl+R type of person.

Horseshoes work better, but one never knows what the PS2 does for you.

Depends, if you end up in the same place to be notified. Some may see fire and brimstone, where others get to attend toga parties.

Bump.

Really hope they get around to building this prize soon.

CDeeter one year ago

Yeah I was wondering about this too.

Dorkstar one year ago

Marco sent me a e-mail Friday saying the case shipped Monday, and that everything should be there this week.

Dave followed up with an apologetic e-mail about the length of time it's taking them.

So, I've been waiting for it to either show up at my door, or for the video to be posted.  People are starting to think I'm bullshiting them lol

realneil one year ago

You'll love that PC once you get it. Marco really goes the extra mile with his builds.

Sorry that you've had to wait, but it sounds like it's coming together soon.

Dorkstar one year ago

Ahh, i'm really in no hurry.  After I won the giveaway in December I ended up playing Halo 4 for weeks, then a friend loaned me his copy of Farcry 3, so I played that on console for days.  Finally my best friend moved in with us, so I moved out of my office, set up a man cave in our loft, and just got back to gaming on my PC.  However, it feels like the worst computer in the world knowing that a better system is on the way, lol.

Now the start up I was working for failed to start up as early as they expected.  Fortunately they gave me a 30 day notice, so I'll be busy figuring out what I'll be doing over the next few weeks.  Like I told Marco, I can't complain about shipping delays when someone is giving me something for free.

Sometimes I doubt their commitment to Sparkle Motion.

Dorkstar one year ago

Marco e-mailed me Friday and said everything had showed up and the build video should be done by the end of this weekend.  I've been checking every few hours, just waiting to finally catch a glimpse of it, but nothing yet.  Hopefully it will be up by the end of the day, I'd love to catch a glimpse of her being put together :)

Wow so whomever wins is not only a lucky winner but also the first winner after the world almost imploded congrats to whomever is that lucky of an individual!

Dorkstar one year ago

Did we survive?  I thought the calendar ended today.  Wouldn't that mean tomorrow is our last day?

altereDad one year ago

After the Mayan calendar. Tomorrow should be 01/01/01 AMCE (after mayan calendar ends)

Since we do not look at this as the standard in religion, I doubt the dates will change.

I got these errors this morning when attempting to reply to a thread.  Perhaps the Mayans were right and the only thing left is my consciousness, which apparently is screwing with me right now.  The first post did actually post, and the delete button actually deleted the duplicate.
