Titanfall 2 Trailer Marches Big Mech Warfare To Xbox One, PS4 And PCs For June Unveil

Titanfall fans, rejoice! EA and Respawn Entertainment have today announced that Titanfall 2 is coming. We're not being given much information about the game right now, but apparently we'll learn a lot more at EA's Play event on June 12.

At this point, all of the information available is tied to the forthcoming game trailer below, which shows a fallen space capsule while a mech quickly approaches, and the voiceover utters some point-blank wisdom: "The problem with being a hero is, you have to be willing to die for what you believe in."

While much of what will make Titanfall 2 interesting is being kept a secret for now, one thing we do know is that PlayStation 4 gamers are going to be able to get in on the fun this time around. When released, the first Titanfall was to act as a killer title for the Xbox One and PC platforms although by most opinions it failed at this first attempt.

Titanfall 2 could have what it takes to far exceed the popularity of the original. For starters, the developer is promising a much richer single-player experience, which is important for those who might not enjoy games that push online play so hard. Another way Titanfall 2 could prove to be so much better than the original is if Respawn Entertainment takes advantage of the fact Microsoft now allows cross-network play in its games. The developer could technically make it so that each version for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and the PC platform could work with another. This would ensure that the game would have a long life, because the community wouldn't be fragmented in their individual platform silos on the multiplayer side of things.

Many of the unanswered questions revolving around Titanfall 2 will be revealed on June 12, so the wait is not too long at this point. There's one thing for sure though; mechanized combat games have always spurred big buzz over the years and if done right the fun factor could be top shelf.  As you'd probably be able to guess, we'll keep you informed as soon as that news breaks.
