Amazon Adds 60 New Dash Button Products For Tactical Reload On Red Bull And Cheez-Its

Admit it, you freak out when you're in the middle of a gaming session and discover you're running low on Cheez-Its or Pop-Tarts, right? Okay, maybe it's just us. Whatever, that's the beauty of Amazon's Dash Button program—when your rations are running low on a particular item, just press the corresponding button and Amazon will process the order as if you've hopped online. Well, now both aforementioned items are part of Dash along with dozens of others.

Amazon added more than 60 new brands to its Dash program. Need more Airheads? There's a Dash Button for that. Same goes for Coca-Cola, Dasani Drops, Folgers, Purell Hand Sanitizing Wipes, and the list goes on. Even Fido is covered with a plethora of pet-oriented Dash buttons for things like Milk Bone and Pup-peroni treats. And don't forget to stock up on PoopBags.

"We’re thrilled to see more and more Prime members experiencing the convenience of Dash Button and restocking their everyday essentials with a simple press of a button—from toilet paper to coffee and dish soap to snacks. As a result, we’re seeing exponential growth for the program and orders increased over 5x in the last year," said Daniel Rausch, Director of Amazon Dash.

That's a remarkable growth rate, especially for a concept that seemed to be of dubious value when it first came out. As it turns out, Amazon shoppers are liking the convenience of pressing a button and knowing that the item they're low on will be replenished in a matter of days. In some cases, companies are seeing more Dash orders than regular orders on Amazon.

"Customers never want to reach for a new trash bag and find out the box is empty—with Dash Button, we’re helping ensure our customers never go through that dreaded moment," said Brandi Pitts, Head of eCommerce, Reynolds Consumer Products. "And the program has been so successful that for some of our products, orders via Dash Button for Hefty now occur more often than orders on the Amazon.com website."

Dash Buttons run $4.99 for Prime members, though every bit of that is returned in the form of a credit the first time you place an order by pressing the button. And to make sure little Billy doesn't ring up a bunch of orders you don't want, you can receive a notification when a Dash Button is pressed and change or cancel or the order.
