We were first introduced to uber-thin ASUS ZenBook UX305 at the Intel Developer Forum last fall. Four months later, the ZenBook UX305 landed on our shores complete with an Intel Core M 5Y10 processor, 13.3-inch 1080p IPS display, 8GB of RAM, and a 256GB SSD. The price of entry for ASUS’s 2.6-pounds of mobile computing goodness: $699. Today, ASUS is delivering a higher-end, “Crystal White Limited Edition” SKU of the ZenBook UX305. The newest model ditches the “old and busted” 1080p display in favor of a “new hotness” QHD+ (3200x1800) IPS display. You still get Intel HD 5300 Graphics and 8GB of RAM,... Read more...
Asus announced the super slim Zenbook UX305 during the IFA trade show in Berlin in September. This ultrabook will be available in two models: one with a 1920x1080 IPS display and one with a QHD+ display that boasts a resolution of 3200x1800. Asus claims the latter model is the world’s slimmest 13.3-inch QHD+ laptop. The UX305 is powered by the new Intel Core M processor which was built for ultra-thin, fanless form factors. The Core M offers some significant advances for both power consumption and performance and enables the thin design found on the UX305. This ultrabook features an all-aluminum... Read more...
After showing off its super-thin Zenbook UX305 at Intel’s Developer Forum in San Francisco last September, ASUS has the system for sale in the U.S. The laptop owes its slim profile to the Intel Core M processor, which doesn’t require fans. The CPU is usually found in tablets and such, but it’s hard to resist for laptop builders that want to shave some millimeters off the height of their ultrabooks. Right now, ASUS is touting its $699 Zenbook UX305FA, which has an Intel Core M 5Y10 CPU, Intel HD Graphics 5300, 8GB of memory, and a 256GB SSD for storage. The ultrabook has a 13.3-inch... One of the most highly anticipated notebook launches of the year is finally upon us. ASUS announced today that its ZenBook NX500 is now available for purchase, and you had better be prepared to fork over quite a bit of cash to take one home.  The ZenBook NX500 comes in one configuration at launch, and it’s fully loaded. It features a quad-core Intel i7-4712HQ processor, 16GB of RAM, and a 512GB SSD. But the star of the show is likely to be the 15.6”, 4K (3840 x 2160) display that is covered by 3M’s Quantum Dot Enhancement Film — the film helps the ZenBook NX500 render “100 percent of the sRGB... It's been a bit quiet over at ASUS lately, and apparently that's because the company's been hording a bunch of product announcements for IFA in Berlin. Wasting no time at the convention, ASUS came out swinging with bunch of new products, one of which is the ZenWatch, the company's first wearable device in partnership with Google. ASUS wisely chose to go with Android Wear, which in our opinion is the most promising wearable platform out there (we'll have to wait and see how Apple counters). As such, the ZenWatch is able to seamlessly pair with any smartphone running Android 4.3 or later. The ZenWatch... Read more...
ASUS brought the whole kit and caboodle to IFA 2013 in Berlin this year, using the occasion to unveil a slew of mobile devices that cut across a number of markets and include plenty of different form factors. ASUS Transformer Book Trio First up is the Transformer Book Trio, a 3-in-1 ultraportable that dual boots Windows 8 and Android 4.2 and can actually function as two separate computers. With the tablet portion docked, users can work with either Windows 8 or Android laptop-style, and when the 11.6-inch tablet is removed (and being used by one party), the keyboard dock can be connected to an external... As CES 2013 creeps ever closer, it looks as if yet another item has leaked out ahead of what we can only presume will be an official debut next week in Las Vegas. Asus has established a product website for a new 15" Zenbook Touch U500VZ. This marks the first instance that we've heard of this machine, but judging by the name, it seems sure that it'll be one of the few full-size notebooks to boast a full touch panel. With Windows 8 now out in full force, a finding touch panels on portable machines is going to become more common. After all, it's the first major OS from Microsoft to embrace touch as... Read more...
For all the performance being packed into today’s super-slim ultrabooks, gaming and multimedia are often the weakest links. Most ultrabooks have Intel integrated graphics that aren’t designed to take on graphics-intensive games. Storage space, graphics processing, and display quality can be key areas in many ultrabooks that leave heavy multimedia users wanting a little more. With the Zenbook Prime UX32VD, Asus is looking to deliver a bit more graphics punch. The Zenbook Prime UX32VD is very slim: it is 0.22 inches thick at the back and tapers to only 0.7 inches thick at the front. But... Read more...

The Asus Zenbook UX21E is a new ultra-slim notebook by Asus, that fits into the new "Ultrabook" class of machines, to use a term coined by Intel. The Zenbook UX21E is an incredible 3mm thick at the front and 9mm at the rear and has spun metal and hairline aluminum for a strikingly sleek appearance. It's also built with Intel's new low-power Sandy Bridge Core i7 2677M mobile dual-core processor. At first glance, the UX21 has an almost sterile appearance. Its brushed aluminum exterior could be mistaken for stainless steel. Upon closer inspection, there are some design queues here that are decidedly... Read more...
We're fortunate enough to get hands-on time with some pretty sexy hardware here at HH and we're not going to make any apologies for using the "s word" as it relates to this hot new notebook from Asus. Though some industry pundits might take issue with us describing this machine as "sexy," you'd have to agree this 12-inch slice of aluminum and cutting-edge technology is pretty damn sleek and pretty. Intel continues to flog the ultrabook concept for all its worth, but DigiTimes reports that thus far, sales aren't in line with what OEMs expected. Shipments from Acer and Asus are currently expected to reach 100,000 units each by the end of the year, far short of the initial target of 200-300K units apiece. Part of the problem is reputed to be price—the Taiwanese models currently open at ~$1200, and the cheaper US $1000 option isn't available The report claims that lackluster specs and economic uncertainty have further dampened customer interest, while OEMs are leery of ramping production...
