Hands On With Lenovo’s Gaming Systems, Desktops and Yoga Mobile Products At CES 2016
Although the Consumer Electronics Show hasn’t officially started just yet, many exhibitors are already setup and demoing their latest wares at various locations away from the convention center. Our first stop today was at Lenovo’s suite, where the company was showing off a wide array of products, from mainstream, thin and light notebooks to powerful, multi-GPU powered gaming systems.
We’ve got a few of Lenovo’s product announcements already posted if you’d like some additional reading and will have a companion hands on video going up shortly featuring Lenovo’s new business-class Thinkpads, including the hot new Thinkpad Carbon X1 Yoga with OLED display.
Here we’re going to show you an array of consumer-class notebooks and convertibles, like the slick, uber-slim Core m-powered Yoga 900S, but we’ve also got some footage of Lenovo’s upcoming Y900 gaming notebook, the Razer co-branded Y-Series desktop gaming system, a super-slip Ideacenter all-in-one, a cool HTPC with projector add-on, a few tablets and a phone. Above we have some video of all of the devices in action that we’d urge you to check out, but we’ve got a gallery of images posted below, as well.
Lenovo Yoga 900S
The Lenovo Yoga 900S is an ultra-slim convertible device, featuring Lenovo’s distinctive watch-band hinge mechanism. The machines are powered by Intel Core m-processors, and are outfitted with 12.5” QHD screens, up to 8GB of RAM and PCIe-based solid state storage. The 900S is under 2.2lbs and is only .5” thin. To see the Yoga 900S in person, and hold it in your hands, is to appreciate just how thin and light the machine is.
Lenovo Y900 Gaming Notebook
The Lenovo Y900 is the antithesis of the Yoga 900S. The Y900 is a new, high-end gaming notebook, powered by the latest Intel 6th Gen Core processors and discrete NVIDIA graphics. The systems feature highly adjustable lighting in the keyboard and touchpad areas, 17.3” Full HD displays, and one-touch overclocking that can boost the performance of both the CPU and GPU. Memory configurations up to 64GB will be available, and the storage configurations include both SATA and NVMe drives, with support for RAID.
Lenovo Ideapad 700
Next up are some shots of the Lenovo Ideapad 700. This Ideapad 700 is also a thin-and-light machine, powered by the latest Intel Skylake-based Core i-Series processors. The systems have 13.3” screens, but with ultra-small bezels, so the overall form factor is similar to a 12” notebook. Though the Ideapad 700 employs premium materials, like a magnesium alloy lid and aluminum alloy keyboard / touchpad deck, the systems will arrive with a upper-mainstream, sub $800 price point.
Lenovo Y Series Razer Edition Gaming Machine
The Lenovo Y Series Razer Edition gaming desktops target high-end gamers and feature Razer input devices and Chroma lighting in the chassis. Lenovo’s Y Series gaming systems also pack Intel’s latest Skylake-based desktop processors, along with NVIDIA graphics, in both single and multi-GPU configurations.
Lenovo Ideacenter AIO And Vibe Smartphone
We also saw an assortment of Lenovo’s Yoga tablets, including an updated MIIX, the entry-level Vibe smartphone, and a new 23” all in one system, the Ideacenter 510S, that Lenovo boasts is one of the thinnest machines of its type.
