Galaxy Note 6 Leak Suggests Samsung’s Next Phablet Gets Curved Display, Bigger Battery, More RAM

We’re only a few months away from the likely launch of Samsung’s Galaxy Note 6, which means that it’s about time to start hearing a steady stream of rumors regarding its specs and features. The Galaxy Note series has always been known for performance and its inking capabilities; the latest iteration will be no exception.

According to a fresh report, the Galaxy Note 6 will bring with it a 5.8-inch curved display screen that retains a 2560x1440 resolution. Two SoCs are said to be in development for the phablet, including the Qualcomm Snapdragon 823 and Samsung’s own Exynos 8xxx.

But the mind-boggling statistic — and one that we are the most skeptical about — is that the Galaxy Note 6 will come standard with 6GB of RAM. Today’s flagship Android smartphone just starting tacking on 4GB of RAM standard in the past year, so a jump to 6GB seems out of the ordinary this fast in the evolution of smartphones. But, stranger things have happened…

The Galaxy Note 6 is also said to come with 32GB of internal storage and a microSD slot for expansion, while the battery is being bumped from 3,600 mAh to a positively massive 4,000 mAh. It’s expected that the phablet will retain the same cameras found in the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge, which means a 12MP rear camera with optical image stabilization and an 5MP front-facing camera.

It should also be noted that Samsung will only be launching a single phablet-class device year, instead of last year which saw the launch of both the Galaxy Note 5 and the Galaxy S6 Edge+.

If we take launches of the Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note 5 as an example, we should expect to see the Galaxy Note 6 arrive sometime in August or September.
