Cyberpower PC’s Wild Fang Trinity Invades CES Alongside New Syber Vapor Systems

We’ve seen a lot of cool stuff coming out of this year’s Consumer Electronics Show, but one of the most interesting has to be Cyberpower PC’s Fang Trinity gaming PC. The Fang Trinity features a unique tri-zone case from DeepCool (dubbed the Trinity concept) that looks somewhat like a Star Wars Imperial Shuttle. Each zone contains an array of components and the wiring is snaked through the case through a central cylinder that also houses the power button.

We could ramble on about tech specs and what makes the Cyberpower PC Fang Trinity so intriguing, but it’ll probably be better if you just take a look at it yourself. Here’s a quick video we shot while on site...

The Cyberpower Fang Trinity

As we mention in the video, the Fang Trinity will be fully customizable, provided your preferred hardware components actually fit in the system. At this point, virtually any off-the-shelf power supply should work, as will any dual-slot graphics card, that doesn’t exceed 12.5” in length. Most (if not all) mini-ITX motherboards will fit in the case, and there are a total of 6 drive bays available (3 x 2.5”, 2 x 3.5”, 1 x slim optical).

Cyberpower plans to offer the 50-lb steel version of the Trinity case for about $350; a much lighter aluminum model is also planned, but specifications and pricing is still being considered.

Save for the case, the Fang Trinity may be using mostly off-the-shelf components, but this is the kind of innovative thinking we like to see in the PC gaming space. The design won’t be pleasing to everyone, but Cyberpower’s inventiveness and willingness to try new things is commendable.


Also on display in Cyberpower’s suite were an array of Vapor-branded small form factor systems from the company’s Syber division. Syber’s Vapor systems are designed for living room or home theater gaming. They are offered in a wide range of configurations, with both AMD and Intel processors and NVIDIA or AMD graphics.

“We created the Syber Vapor PC gaming console to give gamers more power and more customization than the standard video game consoles like Sony PlayStation, Nintendo Wii and Microsoft Xbox,” said Eddie Vong, VP of Product, CyberPowerPC.
Three new Syber Vapor systems are already available with a new starting price point of $549 for the Syber Vapor E, which is powered by a quad-core AMD X4-740 processor and GeForce GTX 750 graphics. The next step up is the Vapor P, which has an Intel G3258 3.2GHz processor and AMD Radeon R9 270X graphics at $649. And the final new models the Vapor K, is powered by an Intel Core i5-4690K and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970, The high-end Vapor I has a price tag of $1099.
The Cyperpower Syber division was also showing off some new concept systems. A Vapor Slim is currently in the works, that will shrink down the form factor even further. They plan to do so by incorporating a smaller power supply (or potentially moving to an external power source) and custom components. A custom PCI Express add-in-board (manufactured by Gigabyte) was shown that featured a GeForce GTX 970M GPU. And high-performing, low-profile copper coolers are also planned.
In addition to the Vapor Slim, the Vapor Steam was also on display. The Vapor Steam is a tiny, small form factor rig build around Intel's Bay Trail platform, that's designed to work with Steam's built-in game streaming capabilities. The tiny Vapor Stream would connect to your television, to stream games from a more powerful gaming PC connected to the network.

A couple of Cyberpower PC's current line-up of rigs were demoed as well, but a final new addition to the line-up was the semi-mobile Fangbook III Extreme. We say semi-mobile, because you're not going to want to lug this 18.4" behemoth around very often.
The Fangbook III Extreme you see here is powered by an Intel Core i7-4720HQ processor, along with a pair of NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980M GPUs in SLI, 16GB of RAM, dual M.2 SSDs in a RAID 0 configuration, and a 1TB HDD. Rounding out the package is a built-in mechanical gaming keyboard, featuring Cherry MX keyswitches. If you ask us, the Fangbook III Extreme looks somewhat like an Amiga 500 with a screen attached, but rest assured this monster is much more powerful.
