In Case Mars Attacks, Asus Might Cover You Against 'Space Invasions' After All
Here is the part that was picked up by Internet detectives and, as far as we know, first posted over at Spanish website MuyComputer.com:
Exclusions from your ASUS Warranty Extension Program including the WEP On-Site NBD Limited Hardware Warranty Service
- There is damage caused by natural disaster, intentional or unintentional misuse, acts of war, space invasions, abuse, neglect, improper maintenance, or use under abnormal conditions
The part about space invasions was bolded by us for emphasis, because that's the sort of thing that should be displayed in all caps with a large font and blinking colors. Think about it. If we somehow survive an attack by Killer Klowns from Outer Space, wouldn't it be nice to know that our cotten-candy covered Asus motherboard would at least be covered by the warranty?
If these guys show up at your door and blow up your computer, Asus has decided it will, in fact, cover the damage.
Thankfully, the good people at Asus thought better of the exclusion and it appears they've since removed it. You're still on your own of an act of war destroys your goods, but goodness gracious, what are the chances of that really happening?
