ViewSonic Reveals New Windows 8 Certified Touch Monitors

Now that Windows 8 it out in full force, we're seeing a new raft of LCDs that are shipping as "Windows 8 certified." Sure enough, as touch becomes more important in the world of gestures, ViewSonic has introduced the TD2340, TD2740 and TD3240 scratch resistant, 10-point Windows 8 certified displays. The TD 40 family features Professional Grade IPS panels with 1920x1080 full HD resolution and 20,000,000:1 Dynamic Contrast Ratio, as well as DisplayPort / HDMI / VGA ports. Additionally, the TD2740 offers an integrated webcam. The TD 40 Series will be available in North and Latin America, with te TD2340 will be available in January, the TD3240 in February and the TD2740 in April, for respective ESPs of $599, $2,499 and $799.

For optimal interaction and comfort when using the Windows 8 operating system, the 23" TD2340 features a highly ergonomic design with dual hinge stand capable of 4-way adjustability, enabling the monitor to pivot or even lay flat. The 27" TD2740 model includes a unique picture frame stand which also allows this model to be laid flat for easier ergonomic usage. Additionally, the TD2740 offers an integrated webcam to deliver maximum opportunity for interactivity. For commercial applications, the TD3240, with optional stand, provides hospitality and retail sectors an interactive, versatile information kiosk-like signage solution.
