Leaked Photos Showcase 5.7-Inch Huawei Nexus Phone With Odd Camera Bump

Google is going to launch another a Nexus smartphone, and if the rumors and leaked information up to this point are true, both LG and Huawei will be involved. The former is rumored to be in charge of the 5.2-inch model, a supposed picture of which was posted online a week ago, while the latter is said to be making the 5.7-inch version.

Some photos of Huawei's model have now also appeared online on a Chinese-language website. What stands out more than anything else in the pictures is the bulging camera, though it's not a circular bulge like LG's model. Instead, the device takes on a periscope-like design with a long, oval-shaped protrusion that runs from side to side on the top of the handset. Have a look.

The rear design is a bit reminiscent of the old Droid Razr, though not as boxy -- other than the hump, what's purported to be Huawei's version of the Nexus looks like a modern smartphone.

While nothing is yet official, the camera bulges on the Nexus models would seem to suggest that Google has prioritized camera performance for its next handset, perhaps insisting that laser autofocus or even depth sensing be part of the package We can also see what looks like a fingerprint scanner on both devices, along with the Nexus logo running vertically.

Then again, these leaked photos we're seeing could be fakes or early prototypes. Fortunately we won't have to wait all that long to find out -- it's expected that Google will announce its new Nexus phones within the next couple of months.
