Best Buy Delivers $200 Price Cut To Already Discounted 27-Inch 5K Retina iMac

Just this past Tuesday, Apple updated two if its high-end PC product lines: the 15-inch MacBook Pro and the 27-inch 5K Retina iMac. The developments surrounding the 5K iMac were perhaps the most interesting, as Apple lopped off $500 off the price of entry for the base model, taking it to a respectable $1,999 (with slightly reduced specs). The ranging-topping model saw its price fall by $200 to $2,299.

Now just mere days after Apple made its big price cuts, Best Buy is coming along with an additional price cut of its own. The range-topping model that we mentioned has be reduced to just $2,099 over on Best Buy’s website, making it just $100 more than a base model.

That price will get you a 27-inch 5120x2800 display, a fourth generation 3.5GHz Intel Core i7 processor, 8GB of RAM, an AMD Radeon R9 M290X discrete graphics card, and a 1TB Apple Fusion Drive.

Some may think that $2,099 is still too much to pay for an all-in-one machine, but consider this: the Dell Ultra HD 5K Monitor UP2715K 27-inch monitor alone will set you back $1,979 from Amazon (it still costs $2,499 if you order direct from Dell). For just over a hundred bucks more, you can have a fully functional 5K monitor and a computer. That sounds like a great deal to me.
